Her recent success as the winner of the Young Artist Award at the Derwent Art Prize 2026, judged by Modupeola Fadugba, Kathleen Soriano, and Charles Villeneuve de Janti, marks an important moment in her emerging career. Her winning work, A Glimpse into Echoes of Entanglement, was recognised for its sensitivity, ambition and exceptional technical control. The judges highlighted Anya's intricate graphite, charcoal and fine liner mark-making, noting how she transforms close observation of the natural world into an evocative and immersive composition. They praised the work's balance of precision and expressive gesture, describing its richly textured forms as shifting between the organic and the abstract, rewarding sustained observation and allowing viewers to form their own interpretations. This combination of technical accomplishment and conceptual openness was described as a compelling and memorable contribution to the exhibition, with the work subsequently exhibited at the OXO Gallery in central London.
